Congratulations to Grant Peyronel who has followed in his father`s footsteps and enlisted in the U.S. Navy!
About Peyronel Family History
In August 1974 my grandfather Alexander Peyronel died in Queens, New York. Not long after that I became interested in my family's genealogy. We really didn't know much more than where he emigrated from, northern Italy. My Uncle Al (Aldo Peyronel) gave me my grandfather's French Bible; the place where I started my search for the ancestors! My grandfather had listed the names of his parents and sisters, as well as my grandmother's (Pauline Bounous Peyronel) parents and siblings. He also identified the towns, Riclaretto and Pramollo, where their families grew up. It was a great find! And it kept me interested in this project for 10 years. Then my mother died July 21, 1984 and everything changed. I didn't just want people to know her name, Shirley Mary Lush Peyronel; I wanted people to really know her and her family. I needed to make sure I collected all the stories and photos to share with future generations. I started again to pump my father Raymond Peyronel, my aunt Jean Kavanagh and my uncle Al; they were a great source! Then I took a few trips and collected more photos and stories! And I worked most evenings for a full year at the LDS Genealogy Library in Sacramento, California, collecting everything they had on the Peyronels. Most of these details are from the microfilm made in the late 1940's when a group of LDS missionaries filmed every birth, baptism, marriage and death records in every Waldensian Church in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. It was incredible the amount of work they did. I took all this information, my stories and photos and compiled a book. I had it printed in September 1989 and gave them out as Christmas gifts that December. Most of this web site information is from that book.
